Hello, I’m M.T. Karthik:
This is a blog and archive of my work until the age of 50.
The MTK Independent was created in 2012 for the 10th Anniversary of my publishing entity, Fifty Foot Pine Tree Press.
In that tenth year of FFPTP (b. April 25, 2002 in Los Angeles, CA), while filling this blog with archived images of works and writings, I also blogged contemporaneously.
All the photographs, videos, audio, texts, performances or installations described on this site are copyright the artist and author, M.T. Karthik.
Please inform me in comments if you use, and credit MTK or M.T. Karthik
M. is for Madras, birthplace
T. is for Thyagarajan, father
a naming convention from where I was born: Madras (Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India
In the 40 years covered here, I became a U.S. citizen and an Overseas Citizen of India and circled the world four times; living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York City, New Orleans, Austin, San Antonio, Japan, India and Taiwan. I’ve been a father for a decade and a half.
This is by far the most extensive blog I’ve ever composed.
Thanks to all visitors.
I’m lucky and happy my site gets hits from many different countries around the world.
You are welcome here.
